What are our playgrounds made out of?

The structural strength of our playgrounds comes from pressure-treated Georgia Yellow Pine, and this wood has a lifetime warranty against rot, decay, and insect damage.

The wood is then inserted into a vinyl sleeve. This protects the wood from the elements and provides a durable, attractive, splinter-free finish. The vinyl can be white or ivory in color.

The metal brackets are powder-coated, stainless steel. Swing chains are made of stainless steel. The ballisters and tower braces are made out of poly lumber. Our commercial roofs are poly board and cut out on our CNC router.

The decking on our towers, ramps, and the backing of our climbers is TrexⓇ decking. These deck boards won’t wrap, sprinter, or rot. As a bonus, they are made from 95% recycled materials.

How and where are the playgrounds made?

Our playgrounds are made in Parkesburg, PA. Our local Amish craftsmen assemble each set here in our manufacturing facility. We take great pride in their hard work and effort in crafting high-quality products.

King Swings Commercial playgrounds are an Amercian product. Our Avalanche slides are made not far from our Parkesburg location, and TrexⓇ is a tremendous Amercian-made product. The vinyl over our lumber is made in the USA. Our deluxe toddler swings, Beuta border, and open spiral slides are rotationally molded in Strasburg, PA.

Our playgrounds meet or exceed ASTM standards, are designed by certified playground safety inspectors, and are delivered and installed by our in-house crews.

How did King Swings Commercial get started?

King Swings Commercial had its genesis in Lancaster County, PA, when Ben King started making residential playground equipment in his barn. The company has grown considerably under Elmer King, Ben’s son, and King Swings is now turning its proven product and processes to the commercial world.

King Swings has spent more than 30 years working with families in the residential sector. We learned much about what people like and didn’t like in a playground purchasing journey. We are taking what we learned and applying it to the commercial world.

King Swings and Kings Swings Commercial are Amish owned. The manufacturing team is majority Amish, and the office team is majority “English,” as the Amish say. It is that unique blend of hard-working-get-it-done attitude and modern playground designs that meet code that makes King Swings Commercial unique.
